To say the least, Bidlocal is a very complex site. It is a custom written online auction website. Containing features such as membership module, newsletter module, bidding module, send to a friend module and much more.
The site is not run all the time. Being owned by the McPherson Media Group, the site is heavily advertised for a period of time to gain interest in the site
and it’s products and then every couple of months is open for a period of ten days. These ten days see a lot of activity on the site and hundreds of thousands of visitors so loading time and image optimisation was a must.
